Through the acquisition and renovation of single-family homes, we provide long-term affordability backed by nonprofit ownership. We work directly with residents to understand their needs, offer tailored support services, and reinvest every dollar into families and futures—not profits.

While there are many other organizations working on this problem, we believe our unique experience and insight helps us tackle the issue differently while still effectively partnering with other organizations to more rapidly eradicate the affordability crisis.

Lauren Taylor Dreher

Founder & Chairperson of the Board

Ms. Dreher has over 15 years of experience in SFR analysis, operations, and asset management. During this time, she has helped private equity firms and investors develop models, structure funds and operations, raise capital, purchase, renovate, lease, and sell single-family homes, with over 5,000 career transactions. In 2017, she founded Realty Haven and Rent Haven, operations companies for Institutional SFR clients designed to serve as vertical operations arms, simplifying their client’s communications and processes including – field operations, building models, underwriting, purchasing homes, due diligence inspections, transaction management, construction management, project management, quality control, vendor relations, marketing, leasing, asset management, compliance, evictions, resident relations, and beyond. In 2020, after a thorough review of market conditions, she observed the depth of the affordable housing crisis and the lack of viable solutions to solve the growing problem so she expanded her expertise to affordable housing and multi-family rental management, building out a compliance infrastructure to be equipped to handle the complexities of subsidized housing. She then began a mission to discover how to develop a market-based solution, which led her to the research and development of Hearth & Ethos’ model.

Abhi Golhar

Board Member, Secretary

Mr. Golhar is a serial entrepreneur and private equity investor. Since 2003, he has successfully developed and executed performance improvement strategies across a range of B2B and B2C businesses, especially in the real estate lending and management industry. From 2003-2007 he founded and operated Rent2Buy, 2003-2017 was a Partner and private investor with Cash Sale Quick Close, and is currently a private equity investor at Meridian 84 and co-founded NPHub in 2017. Abhi is also a nationally syndicated radio/podcast host since 2014 with Real Estate Deal Talk, Think Realty, and The Abhi Golhar Show.

Caitlin Parker

Board Member, Treasurer

Ms. Parker has been a Closing Paralegal and Title Officer since 2008, specializing in Investment properties. From 2017-2020 she was responsible for building a closing division for a large institutional investor with MGC Law. Currently, she manages the Investor team at Costner Law. Her current team closes ~300 transactions a month with large institutional investors.

Jae Kim

Board Member

Mr. Kim is an experienced real estate investor and brokerage owner, with brokerage operations in Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina as an Exit Real Estate franchisee since 2009. He graduated from Georgia Tech as a Mechanical Engineer and was a Manufacturing and Distribution Manager for QVC, Target, and Amazon from 1995 prior to starting his real estate career in 2005.
